We are seeking a skilled and motivated Instructional Data Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the data collected in public education, a depth of knowledge in analytical platforms, and a strong background in data analysis.The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in collecting, processing, and analyzing instructional data to support different processes in our programs operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Preparation:
    • Gather, clean, and organize large datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to define data requirements and specifications for research projects.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Conduct statistical analysis using different analytical tools to derive meaningful insights and patterns from complex datasets.
    • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, correlations, and anomalies relevant to education research.
  • Report Generation:
    • Generate clear and concise reports presenting findings, trends, and statistical summaries to support research publications and client deliverables.
    • Create visualizations and charts to effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
    • Participate in collaborative discussions to contribute analytical expertise to ongoing and upcoming research initiatives.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement quality control processes to validate the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.
    • Review and validate data outputs to ensure consistency with research objectives.

 

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Math, Ed Technology, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred experience as an Instructional Data Analyst for a state educational agency, a district, or a school.
  • Proficiency in one or more analytical tools such as R, STATA, SAS, and Tableau.
  • Proficient at intermediate to expert level in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Preferred knowledge in VBA coding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated to move their workstreams forward.
  • Familiarity with education research methodologies is a plus.

Working Environment

This position is 100% virtual. This is a full time contract position. Our staff are located throughout the country and connect virtually daily.
